Introducing the Women of NVT

The tech industry is rapidly evolving and has advanced over the past few decades faster than many other industries. However, although the industry itself is growing, the number of females in the industry is still fewer than 20%.

At NVT Group, equality is at the core of our values and we put a lot of time and effort into investing in our team. After all, our team is what makes us who we are and are the ones driving forward the excellence we have provided for over 30 years now. NVT Group are proud to employ females and males throughout our departments, and we are delighted to have recently seen an increase in the number of women entering senior roles within our company. Join us as we introduce just a few of the women in senior roles in NVT and how they contribute to the success of our company.

Lorraine Mills – Managing Director, Blue Rock

Lorraine Mills heads up our Cyber Security business, Blue Rock. Lorraine started out in the IT industry in 1996 as a Software Engineer for NVT. Lorraine thoroughly enjoyed this position, however in 2004 after becoming a mum, re-trained as a computing teacher to combine her passions of teaching and IT. After spending time as a computing teacher Lorraine wanted to get back into the industry, and having worked on developing cyber security and ethical hacking courses in the school, had a desire to carry this interest into industry. In 2016 Lorraine completed a Masters Degree at Edinburgh Napier University in Cyber Security, and after noticing a gap in the market for cyber security services tailored to SME’s, started Blue Rock in 2018. Blue Rock now offers ethical hacking, cyber security and data protection services all over Scotland.

Jacqueline Woo – Service Delivery Manager

We were delighted to welcome Jacqueline Woo on board as Service Delivery Manager in July this year. Jacqueline’s role involves acting as the liaison between customers and relevant teams within NVT to continually ensure we can deliver the best services. Jacqueline builds strong relationships with our customers whilst understanding how their business works and what NVT can do to help. She helps to shape the services we offer by taking on board feedback from customers and continually adapting our offering to provide an efficient, professional and hassle-free service. Jacqueline’s skillset has already contributed very positively, and we look forward to improving our services with her help over the coming years. Jacqueline balances her passion for IT and career drive alongside her quest to find the best play parks in Glasgow with her 2 year old daughter!

We recently welcomed Karen Milliken on board at NVT as our Head of Programme Management Office. Karen has a wealth of experience and has been working in project management for over 12 years. She has held PMO roles within various leading tech companies and has also had the time to build a house and renovate a historic 200 year old house too! Karen’s impressive experience and skillset has already been a great contribution to our team and we look forward to continuing to work alongside her.

We are proud to have Karen, Jacqueline, and Lorraine amongst a fantastic team of women and men with a diverse skillset at NVT Group. We hope to continue to address the gender gap disparity in the industry over the years to come.
