NVT Group made another splash at the 2024 charity event in aid of St Columba’s Hospice Care, competing for the second consecutive year in the popular Dragon Boat Race on the Firth of Forth. After an unforgettable debut in 2023, where the team – known then as “The Soggy Bottoms” – finished last in the race, this year saw a new team, new energy, and a new name: The Tech Dragons.
The NVT Group team aimed to leave their “soggy” past behind and continued to channel that fighting spirit, determined to improve on their previous performance. And whilst The Tech Dragons didn’t finish first in 2024, they undeniably performed better than in their initial outing. Their drive and teamwork clearly demonstrated growth, though the team is well aware they still have plenty of training ahead of them to take first place in 2025!
But beyond the race itself, the true victory lies in the cause. The event supported St Columba’s Hospice Care, a charity that delivers essential palliative care services to individuals with life-limiting illnesses. Founded in 1977, St Columba’s Hospice Care is dedicated to offering dignified and compassionate care, both in its state-of-the-art facility and through home-based services, allowing patients to spend their final days in comfort and surrounded by loved ones. Their work extends beyond physical care, with a focus on emotional support for patients and their families, ensuring that no one faces the challenges of end-of-life care alone.
NVT Group is proud to support such a meaningful cause, and we hope you will join us in raising much-needed funds for the hospice. Every contribution helps St Columba’s Hospice continue to provide free care to those who need it most.
