It’s 1 year to go!

Today marks one of the most significant milestones on the journey to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.  It’s one year to go until the opening ceremony at Glasgow’s Celtic Park kicks off 11 days of unforgettable sport, across 14 spectacular competition venues in and around Glasgow.

NVT Group, the Official Technology Services Integrator for the Games, has also announced that it is opening its doors to anyone who is interested in discovering what the company is doing to develop, build, test, install and support the technology infrastructure required to stage the Games.

Graham Stevenson, Marketing Manager, said: “We want to share with as many of our colleagues in the IT industry as possible the innovative approaches we are adopting to deliver a project of this scope.  We’re inviting people to visit us at our offices, meet other people who have an interest in IT and ultimately find out what we’re doing to help achieve a successful Commonwealth Games.”

The Lanarkshire based company, which is also an Official Supporter of Glasgow 2014, is asking anyone who is interested to register for one of the Inside Track briefings it is hosting at its headquarters in Bellshill.

Stephen Park Brown, Managing Director of NVT Group said: “Our preparations for Glasgow 2014 are progressing at a pace and we’re now at the stage we can tell people what we are doing to build, test and support the Games Data Network, which will be an IT undertaking of enormous magnitude.  Anyone with an interest in IT services or Glasgow 2014 in general will benefit from coming along to one of our briefings and getting the inside scoop.”
