A local youth football club is celebrating after receiving a much needed boost by one of Scotland’s most dedicated supporters of young people in sport.

NVT Group, which is Scotland’s largest independent ICT services provider, has agreed to sponsor Stewarton Annick FC, so that the club could purchase brand new strips and training jackets for the players in its 2009 team.  The club has been at the heart of the community in Stewarton for over 40 years and has teams for all ages, from five and above.  Through the club, SFA trained volunteer coaches and staff support scores of young footballers as they develop their skills.  The 2009 team is made up of around 30 boys and girls from three local primary schools.

Stephen Park Brown, Managing Director of NVT Group, said: “We were invited to watch the team play recently and we were absolutely inspired by the commitment shown by both the coaches and, of course, the young players.  It has been our enormous pleasure to sponsor the team so that they could buy their new strips.  We hope it helps the players to feel even more proud of their club and encourages them to succeed.”

2009 Team Secretary Ewen Logie added: “We wish to thank NVT Group for the incredible support of our team through the purchase of our new strips and jackets.  It is very fitting and just reward for the team’s hard work that they have been able to run out in new strip to celebrate the club’s 41st anniversary.  The children and parents are delighted with the kits while the coaches believe that the new uniforms will take team spirit to another level.”

NVT Group has been a long-time supporter of grass roots sport.  Previously, the Lanarkshire based firm has sponsored the Calderbraes Boys Club, Poloc Cricket Club and the East Kilbride Ladies Hockey Club.  It supported several Commonwealth Games athletes in training and, in 2013, it sponsored the Scottish Athletics ‘Club Together’ programme, which provided grass root support to athletics clubs throughout Scotland.
