The sun shone on Glasgow two weeks ago, and on the victorious on the cricket pitch. As the Poloc Cricket Club’s main sponsor and sponsors of two teams, NVT Shawholm and NVT Poloc, we’re happy to hear that both teams recently had a triumphant weekend.
NVT Shawholm and NVT Poloc both championed, over Partick and West of Scotland respectively.
NVT Poloc played away at Hamilton Crescent against West, winning after they mustered 240 for 7 in reply to West’s 239 all out. It was a tense and exciting game. Jon Fearn held the home club’s innings together with 70, and steered his side from 123 for 5, to their eventual 239 but it would not be his day in the final analysis. In fact it could have been either team’s day until the very last overs when NVT Poloc got across the line thanks to an unbeaten 127 from Jurie Snyman. We’re very glad to see the team come away with the 25 win points!
At home NVT Shawholm defended 189 against visitors Partick, in a clash of the current two standout sides in the division. A tough match was forecast, and the team were keen to see how they measured up against their rivals – and as happened over on the northside of the city we’re delighted that NVT Shawholm were up to the challenge and, like NVT Poloc, saw off their opponents.
NVT Group are the club’s main sponsors and have worked in partnership with them since 2004 so it’s great to hear of success at the club.
